RTRFM is The Sound Alternative: an independent, non-profit community radio station in WA that provides an alternative voice for Boorloo and beyond through innovative music and talks programming.

Founded in 1977, the station takes pride in being a platform for local news and issues, with a strong focus on the arts, culture, social justice, politics and the environment. They especially champion local music and support musical diversity through 50+ specialist music programs and a huge program of events.

I am a volunteer presenter/producer at the station and am involved with several program collectives, and also volunteer at various fundraising events for the station.

All Things Queer

All Things Queer is Perth’s dedicated queer talks-based radio program, arriving every Wednesday morning, allowing you to recover and reflect on the weekend just gone and to cast an eye on the issues affecting the queer community.

Tackling local, national and global perspectives on the LGBTI+ experience, All Things Queer isn’t afraid to get political and take on the big issues whilst always maintaining a sense of fun and fabulousness.

Featuring coming-out stories and interviews with those directly involved in the issues,  All Things Queer also brings you music from queer artists to kick your week off.

Artbeat

RTR FM prides itself on their coverage of the arts – from a global and a local perspective. Across the station they have always taken an in-depth and interesting look at the art around us. 

Artbeat is a weekly look at the world from the perspective of the artist, the curator, the viewer, the people that fund it and those who cannot live without it. The program looks at art in all its forms from visual to performance and all those strange and wonderful things in between.

It’s the intersections between art and all aspects of life that we love. From community art centres to our state art gallery, independent producers to global stars, Artbeat is interested in art and all who make it.
